Re: engine swapping

Interesting, so say, put some in when I'm two tanks from home (coloradoish) then change the oil when I get home! The engine will be getting a serious workout going through the San Juan Mountains too.

Just a few ounces of normal seafoam? Any advantage to the deep creep stuff?

Re: engine swapping

How long did you leave it in the oil? The wagon I'm about to buy burns some oil too so I think I'll do the same.

Re: '84 Tercel4wd, automatic DLX for sale

We're going to be stopping by every pick and pull between there and home, hence the tools, and I would always want the basic tools for stuff like hoses, fan belts, etc.

Re: '84 Tercel4wd, automatic DLX for sale

Oh. I haven't flown with tools before, and my toolbox is a whopping 30 pounds, so I may need to carry on some of it. What can I safely carry on a plane? Sockets only?

Re: Car seat anchor

Ah ha, so instead of finding the one that matches the hole in the cargo area, just make a new hole with a third party bracket?

Car seat anchor

Going to be picking up a Petros Certified(tm?) Wagon this week and would like to get one of those metal anchors that attach in the cargo area that a car seat attaches to for our toddler. It seems from extensive researching this was mostly a Canada thing. Mad Marx was also looking for one of these, h...

Re: '84 Tercel4wd, automatic DLX for sale

Around here the older cars like the first gen Tercels aren't appreciated at all. I figure if it runs like a top and just needs painted, it is a steal and I'll sell my current first gen. If it is questionable I'll strip it off good interior parts I need and swap said parts into mine and resell the st...

Re: '84 Tercel4wd, automatic DLX for sale

The wife says since it has power steering, she might not let me drive it

That is excellent advice, I'll wait until the brakes wear out or I torch them!

Re: '84 Tercel4wd, automatic DLX for sale

Oh the wife was wondering, does she (the wagon) have power steering? Also, since I live in hill country, the brake upgrade Petros did is top of my list. I'd just do the vented rotors for now. A few questions: (2) vented front rotors from a '92 Tercel (2) home made aluminum shim/spacers 1/8" thi...

Not a bad price, I'll keep an eye on it, thanks!

What does that system use to pick up speed? How long did it take to install back in the day?
