We use ketchup on our hot dogs on the Left Coast, from California to Washington. Tom is from the midwest, they sometimes do things very differently. Tom, you eat hush puppies in St. L?

'80 FWD Tercel; $3800!!!
Apparently the seller thinks it is a collectible car, just because it is old.

Re: Front Struts question
I do not recall the upper spring seat having a flat in the hole, are you sure you wore a flat out? Or did it perhaps come this way?

Re: Dealing with extra horsepower and torque
I have been thinking about this some more, and part of your problem is the angles the lift has put on the cv and U-joints. As Barto recommends, you need to lower the engine with fairly large shims under the cross member to reduce the angles somewhat. You also might run the maximum positive camber on...

love the music on your video, is that contemporary Russian rock? The last song of course does not need any translation.
You must be lusting after the 4wd Carib, I know I am. I love the latest model, too bad Toyota in all their wisdom decided we did not need a latest 4wd Carib in North America.

Re: To swap or not to swap? Ice racing Tercel
Those are some hot pictures, great to see a Tercel competitive in a class of racing! Going all the way to a 4age? this is a big investment, did you get the ECM and all the wiring, or are you going to convert to carbs? Someone makes a duel side draft carb kit (with manifold) for the 4age, it is prett...

Re: Front Struts question
easiest way is to use an impact wrench, it just spins off. Usually if you put some penetrating oil (ATF works great) on just threads on the nut and let is sit you can spin it off with a socket wrench when it is still in the car. If you are replacing the strut cartridge, get a small pipe wrench or Vi...

Re: Huge THANKS Petros and his wife
Well what else could I do? We started out knowing we had a slightly warped head from an overheat, and it had a few other incongruous symptoms. I volunteered to replace the head gasket to help Bluebelle's mom out, and after the head was off we found the block was basically trashed. Poor bluebelle nee...

Re: Proud T4WD owner from Norway
I also noticed your steering wheel hub is different than the north American version. On the engine you do not have the temp sensor on the water outlet (that goes next to the TVSV) that gives a temp signal to the emissions computer, and it appears you do not used our distributor that has the built in...

welcome to the list! Sounds like a great deal for the car. I love those slim Euro front bumpers, I want a set -I will trade you for a set of our big ones! Rear fog lights? What rear fog light, the red one on the left side of the license plate frame? Looks like you also have a different seat pattern ...

Re: Other hobbies?
A few years ago I made a list of current projects, and all the future ones I wanted to do, and how much time each would take. I do not have enough life left to do them all, so I had to put them in order of how much I want to do it. And got ride of the stuff I accumulated for the items at the bottom ...

Welcome to the list!
Sorry to hear about your trans, these are not always easy to find. where are you located? These trans show up locally in the Pick-n-Pull, but even at a good price, shipping something as heavy as a trans would get pricey.

He might just be hard of hearing...what clicking noise?
Sounds like it should be worth about half that much much, even with just the bad paint.

Re: clutch problems
Have your mechanic replace the rear main seal while you are at it, it will only add a little to the cost now, but it is not easy to get to if it should fail later. The clutch is one of the most difficult jobs you might try by yourself (it is a 4wd trans). I have done it by both pulling the engine, a...

welcome to the list. For an older 4wd car, the Tercel is great, still fairly common and easy to fix, and very cheap to own. IT is perfect for your intended use, I have traveled long ways in my Tercel with three adults, with overnight gear in it. Two of the model issues for the TErcel4wd is are they ...
