Re: Running The Tercel On Petrol Fume
Not sure what you are looking at on YouTube, but the Pogue carburetor has been around for a long time, like turn of the last century actually1930. It uses a sponge saturated with gasoline that air is directed through to pick up the vapors. It worked. BUT it is not practical for an automobile especia...

Re: inner tie rod end loose
Quick way to tell if the play is from the tie rod ends or the rack is to wiggle one wheel. If the other wheel is following the wiggled wheel exactly, but there is a delay in the steering wheel moving, then its the rack. If there is a delay between the front wheels, then it is tie rods.

Re: Transmission Cost?
The alignment is affected, but only the camber. If you mark the concentric washer on the top bolt of the strut to knuckle mount, then you cn put it back in its exact place and alignment will not change. No need to remove the axle nut just to remove the strut. In the repair guides, there are a few go...

Re: Toyota 1972 RV-2 concept car...forunner to the Tercel4wd?
The Datsun 240Z was sold in Japan in two versions. The Fairlady Z was identical except for the RHD. The Fairlady R, now that was a hot little number. It had a high performance 2 liter engine meant for racing, not for street. But I did see one or two of them on the road. They didn't handle the traffi...

Re: how much does a year of insurance cost you
It might be cheaper to gt less liability insurance on the car and get a separate liability umbrella policy. The umbrella policy would also protect you from other forms of liability not related to your car.

Re: How...?!?!
I suspect you will find that it is a dual mass flywheel and the two halves separated. There are six or eight pins or rivets that hold the two halves together with a friction fit. If they sheared off, then you will have this issue.

Not sure but that green connector looks like it might have had a cap on it and is a port to check the voltage from the O2 sensor.

If the rubber strip goes bad, the engine will be out of balance a little, that is all.

Have you looked for a machine shop in your area? They should be able to weld in some filler and reshape the key way.

Re: winter has started
Yeah it came fast. My wife and I started into our walk this morning, it was 73 degrees. Before we got a 100 yards, a blast of cold air from the north hit us and suddenly it was 57 degrees. It took only seconds. I went back to get our jackets for the walk.

If it is as rust free as it appears, and the transmission is good, it would be worth it even if it needed a new engine.

Re: electric trailer brake voltage?
This sounds to me like you are troubleshooting a problem you don't know if you have yet. Why not hook up the trailer and see if everything works OK. You haven't said whether you have tried the trailer yet.

Re: New wagon issues...
Don't jack up the front end. Instead lay on the ground in front of the car and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth. If something is loose, you will see it right away.
