Re: MR2 Alternator Upgrade?

For those of you who upgraded the alternator, how exactly are you modding the upper bracket to get the belt to tension up on it?

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?

You might be right. I should probably fix all the important stuff on the car first. I'll be hanging the car up next year to figure out more stuff I'd want to do to it. Driving around for work yesterday I found a new prospect for the forum. I just need to leave one of those print outs on the car. It ...

Re: Rack and Pinion internal play?

I all of a sudden have encountered another problem with the, I'm assuming, rack and pinion or steering u joint. It was driving fine all morning and around noon or so, the steering started to bind up every quarter turn or so. There's no weird noises, the pump is full and there aren't any leaks. Inner...

Re: severe vibration above 50 mph on acceleration

I have remembered now that my 01 corolla did the same only at 65 through 70 mph years ago. Turned out the tires needed to be balanced.

Re: severe vibration above 50 mph on acceleration

The shaking shifter is a strong indicator of a driveline problem. Most likely a bad inner CV joint. Without a torrn boot or obvious looseness or binding, its a guessing game as to which one. I think this might be the cause as well. Mine blew out a few weeks ago when the sway bar came off. Mine shoo...

Re: Oil light staying on

I remember mine did the same thing with the oil light staying on like yours. I never did figure it out. Bought a new sending unit and still had the same results. Bought a pressure gauge to measure and it was within spec. Got a digital oil pressure gauge from a buddy of mine and disconnected the ligh...

Re: Wanting to wire up new stereo with subwoofers

I like that idea. A lot of modern cars have that. It would be nice to incorporate that into a terc. I think I might tie that in when I go about wiring up a RAP timer someday.

You da man. Had a pry bar on top with a scissor jack applying pressure and had the other at the bottom prying away. Rustled my jimmies quite a bit but it came out.

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?

Cv was the culprit. This is the inner side. I am having a really hard time getting the other end out of the transmission right now. I am bending pry bars and it is simply not budging. Anyone ever experience this before?
