Re: Unrelated terc question...
Well, when the car was first purchased, it was completely stock. No turbo or anything else. Then he decided to purchase and install one. Hooked something up wrong and took it out to street tune it with a buddy. Something messed up and they put a rod through the block. He then took it to a well known...

Re: Unrelated terc question...
Yes. All 4 chambers are covered in oil. My first thought was the valve stem seals. The intake is really clean, but can all 4 rings go our at the exact same time? Possibly could be the rings as the cylinders are covered in oil and the compression is all the same because of said oil. It would be the e...

Unrelated terc question...
2014 civic su turbo. Oil in the combustion chambers. Replaced the valve stem seals with same results. Compression is 150 across all 4 cylinders reason being aftermarket low compression pistons. Cylinder leak down test resulted in 37% in number 4, 24% in number 3, 20% in number 2 and 24% in number 1....

Re: In need of basket roof rack
I bought this one and it fits my needs. if it'll see rain or snow you may want to dab some extra paint in around the spot welds since they havent been able to "get it in there". otherwise you'll likely start to see some "brown tears" after a few showers http://www.ebay.com/itm/2...

Re: junkyard speedometer going crazy
lots of grease will make it hold up longer, but the problem I think is in the cluster. might be possible to fix it by gluing filler in around the spindle to keep it centered. it just depends on what is causing it to allow contact with the spinning magnet within the speedo housing itself. My first t...

Re: junkyard speedometer going crazy
Alright. I just got done taking it apart. The cable loos fine. It's not frayed or anything. The speedo gear on the trans side is not missing teeth and spins well. The only issue I think it might be is that the cable seems to bind a little in its housing. https://youtu.be/_8KW5uALjrQ I just greased ...

Re: junkyard speedometer going crazy
Have you looked at your cable? I have not had the time to look at my cable as of yet, hopefully tomorrow I will have some time and report back. Would the issue be more on the cluster side or the trans side? I have seen this before, the spindle bearing on the needed is worn and sloppy so it touches ...

Re: junkyard speedometer going crazy
Bump. I am now having the same problems with my stock cluster. The reading is off 3 mph from 0 to about 25 and it gets way off the faster I go. I cruise at 45 according to the speedo and I am actually going 35. This just went bonkers this morning when I was rushing to work. I did peg the speedo out ...

Re: Heat production better than expected
Wow, I wish I knew what that felt like! My heater barely works, unless you're going on a multi-hour trip. I think either my thermostat is toasted, or the heater core is mostly plugged... I thought this was my case too. Upon further fidgeting around with sruff, this temp control tab wasn't moving as...

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
I'm still having drivability issues. Ever since I replaced my vacuum lines it's been idling very low and erratically. I was very careful to only replace one vacuum line at a time and have since checked the vacuum diagram three times. Any suggestion? It's getting poor fuel economy and smelling of ga...

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?
looks like you can use a shorter belt, that is pushed up too close to the battery. that should also make the bracket smaller as well, less stress on it, less vibration. I will be looking for one of those alternators next time I go to the wrecking yard. ARe there any external markings, tags, part nu...

Re: Looking for straight 4WD front Struts
I have some but I'd have to look at them to make sure they are alright. Been sitting in the elements outside in a junk pile for awhile now. :/

Re: What have you done to your wagon lately?
Sometimes you just have to make some small sacrifices. Haha. Just a temp fix until my modded bracket is finished. Boy does this 70 amp make a world of a difference. The stock one drops down to 13.5 with the headlights on and 13.3 with the headlights off and the compressors on. Now I am at a 14.1 wit...
