Re: Effect Of Burned-out Charging Bulb
Yeah that is something I learned when troubleshooting charging problems in my 4Runner. I had installed an LED in the dash for the charge light and it wasn't creating enough draw to excite the rectifier.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
I had kept my receipt and was able to return the Brake Best brake shoes. The guy at the counter did some investigating to see if they were even the correct part number and they weren't. I'll have the Toyota shoes today. I'll see if I can determin who they contracted to make them and post pictures of...

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
I went ahead and ordered some genuine toyota shoes from the local dealership. Apparently I got the last ones in the U.S. I plan to do the front brakes with the late model vented parts as you have suggested. In fact it is the only part of my brake system left to do. I just really needed to do the whe...

Re: Calling all Seattle area T4 owners
Weather forecast still looks promising. I have an upright propane BBQ that I can bring. But if someone closer has a more portable grill they can bring I will leave mine at home. I will be bringing brats, buns, toppings and some sodas. If you want anything else bring it with you.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
My Toyota friend from England is in town, so he came over yesterday and helped me replace my rear wheel bearings. I have to say that it was a bigger job than I was expecting. I was planning to do the brakes as well since I was in there. I bought new wheel cylinders, drums, soft lines, hardware kits ...

I remember reading about your 65 mph bearing failure. Every time I take my car for a drive lately I have been imagining myself in your shoes. I need to do the job soon.

Re: severe vibration above 50 mph on acceleration
I think I would also first suspect a bad wheel bearing. If you have the CV's you should probably change those out too just in case it is the source of the problem. I am hearing howling from my rear wheel bearings. I know they are going bad. I have the parts, but just need to make the time to do them...

Re: Brake Up-grades MR2 Parts Vented Rotors Corolla Spacer Figs
So I realized after the fact when looking at my 4Runner that the brake reservoir cap was the exact size needed for the MR2 master cylinder and has the correct plug on it already. http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u513/nadiller/all-trac/36909550-CF36-4C17-B21B-13DD3765C006.jpg So any early pickup c...

I suggest starting where Petros recommends and checking your vacuum lines. The repair guides section is where you will find all the help you need to fix almost any problem. Here is the thread you should read through to get started on your vacuum lines (found in the repair guides section.) http://ter...

Re: Camshaft Seal - what can go wrong?
Mine was leaking in a similar manner but it ended up being the main crankshaft seal at the oil pump. Once I replaced it the leaking stopped. You could be having the same problem. It would be hard to detect because the timing cover conceals it.

I know there was one at Federal Way Auto Wrecking a few months ago here in Washington. Not sure if they sold it since then but you could give them a call.
