Re: 1983 Toyota Tercel SR5 Passenger Rear Tail Light
Carol- Sure i remember you! As for the taillight. i've got one in good condition- how's $10 plus the ride sound? Didn't think a "normal" car
could bust a terc wagon taillight without totalling the car!
Let me know, Rich.

How many do you need? Almost never see broken taillights on t4's (must have been a truck that backed in to you??)
Needless to say , i've got 'em in stock.
PS- yeah, you need the whole assembly.

Re: Powering up for testing
Easiest way would be to chop the 4wd "donor" vehicle off at the windshield and graft it onto the 2wd front- the floor pans are COMPLETELY different (the 2wd gas tank would be in the way of the driveshaft to the rear diff.) Also, rear suspension is completely different-not worth even consid...

Re: Front wheel locked up.
Don't know about the corollas, but several a/t equipped late '80's- early '90's camrys i've worked on had empty or near-empty diffs. Diff has its own drain and fill plugs (seperate from the tranny.) Should be full of dexron atf. I'd say pull the diff drain plug and see if anything comes out. Good Lu...

Probably bad blower motor- check for power to the blower plug- if it's got power and doesn't run, well-there you go!

Re: blown engine oil cap
It lost between 1 & 2 qts oil. 1-2 qts low should not have done any engine damage- just make a hell of a mess. Can't believe the filler cap "blew off"-my guess is it was not properly tightened down (if it was installed at all-i've seen 'em left laying on the valve cover after adding o...

Re: Transmission "frozen"
if there were that much water in the trans with all the gears, i imagine you'd have other problems. did you ever remove the shifter and cover to expose the linkage? i've found the chamber in which the shifter meets the linkage is prone to moisture, dirt, and corrosion, so i would guess that one or ...

Re: The collection begins?
Congrats on your full-fledged terc addiction! That car looks WAY too nice to be relegated to parts car duty- stuff an engine in it and drive her (dare i say it would make a perfect replacement for your gen 1?) Here's a thought- put the gen 1 engine in the fwd wagon, then look for a beater 4wd m/t wa...

Re: 1965 Datsun Truck (Mn. Craigslist)
Back in the day, had a few rear -engined renaults (was a lot younger and more stupider? then.) They all had crank starters along with electrical starter motors. Once i was visiting a GF in westport conn and the generator took a dump in my r-8. Started it with the crank in westport and drove it back ...

Re: Old Gold Goes!
OK, so i've been dragging my butt for almost 5 months now- Old Gold's REALLY gonna go in the next week or so. Anybody here need anything, let me know real soon. Keep in mind i'm in Baltimore, MD so shipping could get pricey on bulky items.
Thanx, Rich.
