Re: 87 SR5 4wd from Vancouver!
Just an update in the time the site went down. wow there was a lot. - rear ended someone in the rain. first accident ever in my short 6 years of driving experience. just a little chip on the bumper (i had painted it black as it looked like any 25 year old plastic/rubber bumper), but nothing else. i ...

Re: We're back?
i was relatively new to this forum by the time it went down, however I did miss it a lot. if there is a way i can help, i'd be more than willing to. also, if money is an issue for upkeeping the site, i would be more than happy to participate in some sort of donation system.

It's not connected to the key lock. the solenoid is connected to the arm that the manual lock connects to. since the key lock moves that arm up and down when you use the key, it also moves the solenoid up and down

that would be great! PO of mine ripped off the sticker off the original knob...unknown reason. if it's a black knob, bonus points!

essentially I watched an episode of mighty car mods (going back to the first clip they had!): http://youtu.be/Pj0w0xo2ChY?t=3m17s then bought this one for myself: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/4-Door-Power-Central-Lock-Kit-w-2-Keyless-Entry-Car-Remote-Control-Conversion-/321508376183?pt=US_Audio_Video_Remo...

WTB: Some specific parts
I'm after some difficult items. I've had some luck finding wagon parts locally, but the closest I've come to a 87 T4 is a 86 fwd wagon. I've looked around the forum/ebay/local listings, and nothing so far, so here goes I'm looking for (this list might grow): Left side 87/88 corner light 4wd selector...

Re: '86 2WD wagon at Pick-n-Pull yard, Richmond, BC
pretty beat, looks like a front end collision, front bumper pulled upwards. i got the rear wipers from it but unfortunately nothing left was really there, interior stripped, mirrors gone, engine bay was a mess, there are good taillights though...

Re: 87 SR5 4wd from Vancouver!
have had a few 83 and 84 fwd hatchbacks, and unfortunately, they don't have flip flops. they do however have the adjustment inside, something that is not there anymore for the fwd tercs 85+ from what i've seen at the yards.

Re: 87 SR5 4wd from Vancouver!
late reply, been busy with the clutch on the mr2. the mirror was actually from a 86 wagon fwd, but unfortunately it doesn't have the mirror adjustment inside the cabin (is the the flipflop?) I saw a few 83s hatch with em, so I'll grab those next time. no body damage from the hit yay! the front right...

Re: 87 SR5 4wd from Vancouver!
Got a new muffler! the old one was clamped on, but where it was clamped in was rusted, so it was just hanging by one hanger at the very rear of the car. the over-axle portion had holes everywhere as well. surprisingly everything in front of the rear axle was in good shape, so a cut, few bends and we...

Re: If you suddenly find yourself getting bad fuel economy
welp. solenoids are both gone. i should have tested this when the carb was off the car. pretty happy that i heard this while i had an exhaust leak at the rear axle U section, otherwise I wouldn't have known. there's a really minty 83 fwd hatch at the yards, wondering if i should get it from there......

Re: If you suddenly find yourself getting bad fuel economy
linkage and the thing that pins it open are on top front of carb if you start engine cold and watch the linkage as car warms up you should see it move (have to remove air filter housing and plug that large vac line that goes into bottom of housing) if it does not move far enough bend it till it doe...

Re: If you suddenly find yourself getting bad fuel economy
thanks guys. i had just rebuilt my carb and i'm almost 99% certain the vac lines are correct. as for the carb adjustment after the rebuild, i've gotten nowhere with the FSM. not sure if there's an order or a "starting point". how do you guys adjust everything? air filter housing off? or ta...
