There is a rather infamous picture of the freeway wreckage of the 1994 Los Angeles/Northridge earthquake. It shows the a pile of concrete freeway bridges, busted beams, broken concrete blocks and a tangle of rebar with a pristine yellow Terc4wd sitting right on top of a section of fallen freeway de...

Apparently a bunch of cable ties will do the same thing. I haven't tried it...yet.

So I called the teacher again, it's been a while. The Tercel is gone. :x
He doesn't know what happened to it, just that it disappeared. :(
Maybe I can call the woman and ask her what happened to it, but I'm guessing it's gone. :?

I know you guys like beer, but I presume "malty" is not a reference to a brewski?
You guys have different adjectives than us...

I ran across a guy who's selling a 1969 Checker wagon with a Perkins diesel. I knew of some of the stranger engines they'd used through the years, but never knew about the Perkins. I know of a guy who's a real Checker nut. I've heard that there were only 100 made with the Perkins, this guy has owne...

Thanks Gas! You can swap out the top parts of the engine and make it a 4AF though can't you, won't that solve a lot of the fitment problems? Probably, but you never know what Toyota did. Right now I'm putting a California emissions 4AFE into a Federal emissions Corolla body. I was going to swap int...

4AF would be easier, less wiring. Plus the EFI intake manifold will shove the TB into the firewall. Now I'm wondering if the dizzy will even clear the firewall. You'll need to build a header that clears the steering. I think the Tercel will handle it as long as you don't drive like an idiot. Even wi...

Sawzall! Or find somebody who will haul it away for scrap.

It was Finland and it's one of the links I posted above.

Yeah, but it's the 3S-GTE engine from the MK2 MR2. Great engine, but not likely a bolt-in project.

It's been discussed a few times before. Try searching. These are probably two of the better threads: http://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2075 http://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1991 The pics of the one in Finland aren't showing up, so here they are: http://i11.tinypic.com/4t5prgn.jp...

I'm hoping she'd like to see the car fixed rather than scrapped. She must like the car, even with free labor it doesn't make much financial sense to fix it up. I talked to her about it a while ago, she wants it fixed for her daughter. At least the school knows who's car it is, they told me they lost...

I really should get it. I think I should talk to the teacher again, maybe he can convince the owner that it's "junk". They're obviously not going to fix it, it's been sitting there for years. It has more rust than I originally thought, but I'm sure it has at least a few years of busting th...

Hornbeam's not mine, even though it was in my yard for years. It is parked comfortably in the owner's backyard right now. The "cars I've driven" page on my site is exactly that. Cars I've driven, not owned. I should specify that, you're not the first to make that mistake. I have only owned...

I've made 666 posts here and I've never owned a Tercel. So I decided to do a compression test on the '88 and maybe become a Tercel owner. The numbers were probably all a bit low since the engine was cold and being cranked through cheap jumper cables. #1 was 90 PSI, #2 was 110 PSI. Not great, but cou...
