Re: 3rd / 4th gear woes

You have to really yank upward on the shift lever to get it free of the linkage. make sure the big circlip is removed, and give it big jerk (do you have one handy? Most people do). yup, everything is removed. I tried yanking, but I didnt want the stick to bash me in the head if it were to suddenly ...

Re: 3rd / 4th gear woes

Got some good news and bad news. I did the flush. When I first started driving, 3rd and 4th crunched a bit, but I was able to get them in if I"leaned" on the stick a little. However, the more I drove, the better third got, and the worse 4th got. I can get third in with no crunching, but I ...

3rd / 4th gear woes

Hello -- I noticed with my tercel that it is starting to become hard to get the transmission into 3rd and 4th gear. When I shift it into either gear, and gently let off the clutch, it will start grinding like you are trying to shift it without using the clutch. Sometimes I can get it into both gears...

Bulging Rad Hose, Blown Head Gasket?

Hello once again -- I was perusing around the internet the other day and found out that one of my local auto stores had a radiator for my tercel in stock. My old radiator was a plastic top tank, with a big crack going from the filler neck to the bottom of the tank. I picked up the new radiator, and ...

Re: Front wheel wobble on wagon

I just replaced the bushing today, and the wobble went away. Now onto the grinding noise coming from the rear. I believe it's the wheel bearings, so that'll be my next project!

ISO Inclinometer hood

Hello--

I just picked up a tercel inclinometer off a local website; however, the hood was not included. Preferred color is black, but any color will do! Thanks!

Re: Front wheel wobble on wagon

Thank you for the info. I just ordered front and rear rubber pieces, along with the metal tube and the retainer. Here are some pics of my current sway bar bushings.

Re: Front wheel wobble on wagon

Thanks for your response petros! I have some follow up questions for you! wobble is likely from not enough castor on front wheels, when you apply the brakes the wheel moves back on the suspension, changes geometry. Make sure your ball joints are all good, everything is tight, and no worn out rubber ...

Front wheel wobble on wagon

Hello -- I just recently got myself an 88' DLX wagon for $650, and am in the process of fixing it up so I can daily it. When I bought it, it had a bad headgasket, and the TVSV valve was broke, though it still ran and idled (kinda). Anyways, after fixing all that with a new gasket and a weber 32/36, ...
