Re: How to Replace a Head Gasket: Petros method
Perfect. Thank you. I have 2 3a motors I am building now, and have a 4a I hope to finish first. I realize that the 4a gasket (ITM brand) has a hole for the coolant between all the cylinders on the opposite side of where the added holes would go, and the OEM Toyota 3a gasket has none. Should the 4a g...

Re: How to Replace a Head Gasket: Petros method
Does anybody know what size holes to put into the head gasket? I know the larger one goes to the front, and the smaller one to the rear. The picture showing the hole sizes seems to have been lost and is blurry.

Re: 1985 Tercel DLX bad Auto tranny?
We could not get the car off the tow dolly, We loaded it with Jacks and rolled the tow dolly under the car. We have new front axles here, so we just cut the cv shafts in half so we could get it to roll in neutral. The car would not move at all in any gear position including neutral, that is why we c...

1985 Tercel DLX bad Auto tranny?
I just got a really clean 1985 Tercel Deluxe Auto. has about 118K miles. Previous owner was driving it on the freeway, trans made a noise. He pulled over & it never moved again. I picked it up from a trans shop that said the front diff was locked up. The car starts and runs just fine, and when y...

The link you are reffering to, is it internal in the trans?

Junk Automatic Transmission
I have a junk Automatic Transmission from a 1986 Tercel 4wd Wagon. Was a DUI impound car that I bought for cheap for parts. The transmission made NASTY noises and would barely move the car, but was not happy about it. Would not move vary far. Is it worth selling the trans to someone? Anybody want it...

Re: PARTS FOR SALE ON EBAY
Here is the reason for the prices: The prices posted are not wishful thinking, the parts were priced to not sell. Weird I know. I had 2 Tercel drivers & 3 project cars. I had a boat load of parts that I needed to inventory somehow. So I listed them on ebay so I could locate what I needed when I ...

Re: PARTS FOR SALE ON EBAY
at those prices you will be waiting a long time to sell that inventory. I could not find those door pins. The hinge pins are listed here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/401294760395?item=401294760395&viewitem=&vxp=mtr All my prices on lots of parts listed on ebay are way high, this I agree with. A...

PARTS FOR SALE ON EBAY
WE HAVE SOURCED SOME DOOR HINGE PINS THAT WORK GREAT FOR THE TERCEL. 20$ FOR 2 PINS. BUT THE CATCH IS, YOU HAVE TO SAND DOWN THE BRASS BUSHINGS TO MAKE THEM THINNER TO FIT BETWEEN THE HINGES. NOT THINNER IN DIAMETER, BUT THINNER LENGTH-WISE. PLEASE ASK ABOUT THEM, THEY ARE NOT ON EBAY YET. THE TOP F...

Re: Front wheel Too far backwards
I just put the 13's back on and put the 14's on my other work car. Works great. I think I will enlarge the sub frame mount holes in the future, but for now I have 3 cars with 14's on them, so I am not worried about it. It plugs along very nicely at 85 if need be. So I guess I have 3 cars with accide...

Re: Front wheel Too far backwards
You are a genius Rer233. I will just lower the sub frame & widen the holes to slide it forward to put The wheel where it should be, much easier than drilling holes in the frame rails trying to make them line up.

Re: Front wheel Too far backwards
I loosened the bolts today on the cross member (all 4) & put on 2 ratchet straps to the outer end of the control arm and the tow hook. Tightened both as hard as I could. smacked the cross member on the back side and it "looked" good. I tightened the cross member bolts and loosened up t...
