I would have to agree with the spark diagnosis. Weak spark from a bad coil or timing off just enough will cause the syptoms described.

Fail-Safe is a brand I believe. I'll keep that in mind and get one of those from Autozone. I think they are $10 versus $8.25 or whatever the other is from Autozone. Where can you grab one of these back-flush tees? Metal or plastic? How difficult would it be to rig up an alarm to the temp guage. Have...

Just got through replacing the thermostat. Sure enough the old on was stuck open. Thermostat and gasket from NAPA $8.69. I already had some blue RTV. The hardest part of the job was scraping the old gasket off the engine. The lower nut is kind of hard to get at, but once I got it loose it came off e...

I also had the window problems with my 1983 Tercel. I actually read a specific tip in a Chilton manual. The first ever. The suggestion was to use a thin cloth and position the edge between the rear of the window crank handle and the door panel. Then you move the cloth back and forth around the handl...

I haven't seen a 7a-fe in a rwd car. Will the engine mounts and excessories transfer from the 3a or will this just be too hard of a swap? I really want to do some off roading but I will need more torque. Getting stranded is not my idea of fun. If I could find a 4af head or a 5af head I would trow th...

Are 7A-fe's hard to get a hold of? If I can find one cheap I would be willing to do the swap. I think the bottom end on my girlfriends 3a-c is shot and I don't want to do a rebuild. No oil in the system is not good for any motor! If the oil light comes on just before crunchy noises and a lot of buck...

why would you do this? while the car is in the air to drain the fluid, just add it in with a pump... or are you doing this because you don't have access to a lift, so you jack the car up enough to remove the bolts, then drain the fluid, put them back in then fill the tranny through the hole... -then...
