Thanks guys. Good news from my insurance company, they have ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS which means exactly what it says. So I'm still in the driving business, just gotta stay clean for the next 7 years. I'm still driving the smashed up car but it's a real cop magnet. GT-S, I loved the fuel injection, neve...

Corolla wagon wrecked

I got hit by a truck, so that's the end of that. Nobody was hurt though.
So anyone know of a good deal on a wagon around Ontario? I like the boxy 80's cars anyway.
Public transit is also good. And bikes.

Sorry there's no hood for the inclinometer, unless it turns up in my garage cleaning. The headlights will fit any year and if its an 84 then you don't even need to change the connector. I looked long and hard for these, but they just don't do any good without the surrounding sheet metal.

FREE PARTS

No joke. I'm giving away a clutch cable, an SR5 cluster or two, an inclinometer and 2 Tercel4WD.com stickers. Located in Ontario but I will ship for cost. Also selling my european headlights (way cool, they're large and take H4 bulbs), with matching clear corners for $50 and my MR2 rims in good cond...

The extra low gear is actually located on the shaft that comes out the rear of the transmission and I believe that it doesn't work in FWD because the transfer shift hub physically blocks the EL shift hub when it's in the FWD position. If you did get it to work, you would have rear wheel drive for th...

In my city in southern ontario we went the whole month of January with no snow on the ground, and the last week of december and the first week of february. This sucks. At least I don't miss my tercel as much.

selling my collection

I have a large collection of Tercel 4WD brochures and magazine articles both foreign and north american, that i'd like to offer to someone on this board. Though I was planning to, I never got around to scanning them, converting them etc. for use on this board, and knowing myself I never will, they j...

Finally I couldn't stand it anymore, so last weekend I just BLOCKED the valve with a piece of sheet metal and some gasket paper. A new valve costs $380, a high price to pay for an experiment to find out if the valve was indeed bad. Of course there was carbon in it, but this one doesn't look like it ...

They can also leak and pass exhaust all the time, causing roughness and poor performance.

Ok so nobody cares about my stupid EGR valve. But it's gone bad again after a couple months, same crap. Sure enough, connecting the hoses (both) resulting in a few days of good operation and now I have to disconnect them again. Just replace the valve? Checked for vacuum leaks again, still nothing, o...

Screw EGR

Fixed. There were actually 2 hoses going to the EGR valve, one from the standard vacuum modulator and one from the solenoid that forces it open under electronically sensed conditions. I had only unplugged the solenoid one before. Once they were both off, it stopped hesitating and it's been good for ...

There's really nothing. The newer wagons are all very expensive. They made the Tercel a basic car but everything newer that has 4wd is considerably more 'refined'. Meaning $30,000 price neighbourhood. The Corolla wagon is okay, I have one now, but its extra weight and the centre differential 4wd sys...

I think my EGR valve is screwed

Figure this one out: My car has been hesitating and shaking since I bought it, and the fuel injection doesn't give any error codes and I tested for vacuum leaks with propane and none showed up. Suspecting the EGR valve, I disconnected and plugged the vacuum hose and for a few days, it ran great, the...

Nice work on the wheelwells. That's exactly the stuff I can't do. Just make sure you put lots of rustproofing oil on from the inside after all that welding.
