Cheers for all the advice, there almost seems to be a larger knowledge base of bikes than terks in this forum! I thought i was completely bike savy before exploring the elements of building one Ive been working out costs and my cash situation, and am willing to spend up to AUS 1000 for initial parts...

Shock dont dought that price, its definately a goer , by my standards anyway; i got coerced (by excitement) into buying an 87 dlx at nigth time, not running, he claimd batery fault, but 1000$ later i found it was a warped haed and blown radiator+pump, but the more work u do on the terk the less part...

yeh does seem more difficult now, but i figured all cars had internal linkages, and column shifters went down steering column into a sort of universal linkage then had rods back along transimission to top linkage ( i guess that explains the side linkage- space) thats how the old Kingswoods operated ...
