Wanted: Cheap Weber k740
I've been wanting to make the switch for a while but can't justify close to 400 bucks for a proper swap. If anybody has a used weber they want to unload let me know

Re: Throw out bearing failure
Well i found out you all were right. my trans was WAY low on gear oil. (i should be ashamed. i know)
so i put in a quart of 80w-90 and the Lucas stuff. the noise went away at least for now. hopefully i didn't tear it up too bad.

Re: Throw out bearing failure
It makes sense it would be the input shaft bearing. I crawled under the other day and found a nice coat of gear oil on the underside of the transmission.
I'm gonna top it off tomorrow with some Lucas additive. Maybe some thick oil will keep it quiet for the time being.

Re: Throw out bearing failure
The noise only ever occurs when the clutch is out such as sitting at a stop light out of gear. It comes and goes but usually is the worst after 30+ minutes of driving and usually makes a knocking sound but it can very from a high pitched whine like a loose belt and when it is very cold it can sound ...

Throw out bearing failure
My throw out bearing is starting to act up. I'm getting alot of rumbles and generally terrible sounds from the bell housing. I got a new clutch kit but i have a dilemma. Either I continue to drive around for a month until i can use my buddy's lift. or i do it now on my back. So my question is what w...

Dead Cylinder
lately my trec has been running rough. It's hard to tell because i haven't paid much attention to her in recent months other than routine maintenance so i figured i would do something about it today. when i got home i let it idle and just listened. It's not running terrible but there is valve train ...

muffler upgrade
I love my terc but i'm getting a little bored with the sound. I'd like a deeper throaty note with mild to moderate volume like a muscle car. I defiantly don't want an obnoxious ricer buzz. Does anyone have a suggestion for an aftermarket muffler? or is the 3-Ac just to small to sound cool? also i'd ...

Re: Cruise Control Removal/Installation
I took mine out when i bought it it had the module under the dash and all the wiring but none of the mechanics under the hood but you can pretty much rip it out just make sure you don't leave any loose ends

Re: Brake light stays on
I'm gonna have to second splatterdog there is no pressure diff switch on the tercel. The only two switches that can turn on the light are the float switch and the parking brake switch both put the light to ground. the terc was designed with tried and true Toyota technology. i just can't figure out w...

Re: Brake light stays on
I had the same problem with my terc and was able to fix it. first make sure you don't have any leaks in your braking system. the way it works is that the float and lever are switches that give the circuit ground when they are tripped( the float low or parking brake up) check brake fluid if low top i...

Re: Restore - good, bad or indifferent?
restore is lead, mercury and other metals. I've seen an oil lab report where restore had been used. the lead content was off the charts.
high quality clean oil is good for me. i'd only use restore on a junker thats on it's last legs anyway

Re: Brake light question
i had a similar problem on the opposite side. turned out to be the ground wire had corroded and lost connection. make sure the wire that connects to the outer part of the socket (i believe it's white with a black stripe) has a good connection to the bulb. you may just have to clean out the socket. i...

Re: turn signals
sound like a cool mod. based on my limited knowledge of flasher theory i would say that the difference between the amp draw from the front to rear is causing it. if the bulbs from the parking lights have the same draw as the original signal lights it should act the same right? maybe you could retro ...

Re: Front end shake
bad bearings don't always make noise but it wouldn't hurt to check them out. I'd look inspect the steering and suspension again. the best way is to have the car on it's wheels and have a helper rock the steering wheel back and forth while you feel for play in a the components. Any play whatsoever an...
