Re: 1983 Toyota Tercel 4WD SR5 : Life in Pictures / Lost & Found: RESTORATION DOCUMENTED!

Ha! brilliant. I've also got my Corolla Alltrac registered with a Melbourne Car Wrangler. BTW our car industry in Australia has now finished making cars here. Its quite devestating to the manufacturing although there will be some engineering and design presence still. Hemmings had a story last mont...

@ "Daisy221:" Advise the year and VIN of your Tercel and the date of manufacture or you will be deleted. Also post your actual city. The reason is that your IP and and name have been associated with spam on any number of differing sites in the last couple of years - and you did not respond to queri...

Re: Only goes into gear in 4wd? (First post!)

@ Intermodal - do not take it the wrong way, but ... Review the proper procedure on filling the trans/diff! In particular, remove the fill plugs before the drain plugs! Check out this link if fill/drain plugs are boogered (not unusual, as they are soft material!): http://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewto...

Re: New strut bar

SirNik83 - I have a Weber with the small air cleaner. If no one else has prior dibs, I would be interested in the MR2 bar, depending on the freight from Sacramento/Kelseyville to St. Louis.
Thanks,

Re: Cold/Hot slider issues

Goldie's slider only moved the valve about 80% of the way, so my remedy was to unhook the end of the cable, and in the Spring (or thereabouts) manually close the valve all the way and then in the Fall (or thereabouts) manually open the valve all of the way. OT, I know I mentioned it last Fall, but :...

@ SirFoxx -
IF you decide to part out the '88...please post what could be available.
Which color is the interior?
I am in St. Louis, so ... Also, member NWMO is just a little North of you (whether in MO or KC) and could be interested.

Re: Front end Shakes

I think you lucked out on the resolution of your problem! Having a broken belt is not a safety issue? Asked out of ignorance and not snarkiness! I would still check out the sway bar; better late than sorry! As to wheel bolt patterns - check out Stickie #2 in the Tercel 4WD Parts: New and Used Forum ...

Re: Front end Shakes

Great analysis and explanation by Petros (but who is surprised?)! One thing I might mention, though, is where the sway bar attaches to the control arm; it could be necked down. Possibly being a towed vehicle for nearly 30 years, accumulating crud there? To me, this is the only Achilles' Heel of our...
