Ah, keen eye. I did not know that.

Updated question; do the canadian tercel's have a manual choke?

And why would honda give Canada a manual choke and not the US?

Ok, just comparing it to my 87 civic wich has a manual choke, there is a choke lever beside the steering wheel (to the left) that has 4 positions. Its very neat, and it surpises lots of people i take for a ride that in 87 honda still had manual choke avail! The only reason i would prefer auto choke ...

In canada, we have 4wd matrix. Can only get it in auto though...dont you have them in the US?

Where does the average guy get a inclinometer to mount in his non sr5 or after 86 tercel?

Do they surface on ebay often? Can you still get them from the dealer?

Does anybody have a good pic of one?

Probably about 500bucks CND for the whole car. I guess the car has only (for a toyota its low) 220,000km, but it has a knock from under the hood. I think its been neglected (long duration between oil changes, ext.) but i listened to it and couldnt tell you exactly what it is. Doesnt burn any oil tho...

Oh, i dont own one yet, so please let me know... is the super low 1st gear only avail in 4x4? So if you had an 85 SR5 the gear indicator would light up as would the 4x4 light in the inclinometer. So after 86 when the inclinometer was no longer available, then just the super low light went on when yo...

Is the only thing that changed in 83-84 is the final gear ratio? Is any year of tranny stronger?

With the 3.73 vs 4.10 gear ratio of the older vs newer tercel's, what does each rev on the highway (approx 60mph)

My friend has a 85 corolla GTS with the 1.6DOHC EFI motor that he is selling for cheap. Could i put this into a tercel 4wd? I am new to these toyota's, but i noticed the terecl has a longdiutially mounted engine same as the corolla GTS. Is this a possible swap, or would the 4wd componets not hook up...

was there any other changes in 88, other than it being a rare year?

The inclinometer, can you mount one from a 84 into an 88 without any major pain? Is it built into the dash, and do i even want one?

great posts, thanks guys! I hope someone can confirm my take of this thread... 1.)Tercel's have a more workhorse but less civilized motor...(civics were carbed until 87 as well, so similar to tercel) 2.)Tercel's have the ability to engage and disengage 4wd as were the civic does not. 3.)Civic has IR...
